In the province of Cádiz, 11,641 applications have been submitted in the extraordinary regularization process —which the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration opened on April 16 and closed on June 30—. Most are young people of working age: 32.9% are between 25 and 34 years old, and 21.9% between 35 and 44. Men, 58.2%; women, 41.8%.
By nationality, Colombia leads with 23.8%, followed by Morocco (20.3%), Venezuela (8.6%) and Senegal (7.7%). This is what the ministry's data shows, which also indicates that in Andalusia, 37,095 prior appointments were assigned when the process opened. In Huelva and Cádiz, the percentage of applications submitted by collaborating entities in Foreign Affairs —the RECEX— was 13.5% and 12%, respectively.
The deputy government representative in Cádiz, Blanca Flores, assures that the process went smoothly. According to her, the appointment system and office services worked without problems, and all collaborating entities attended to those interested. Flores insisted that this regularization gives opportunities to people who are already in Spain working in sectors such as agriculture, elder care, parcel delivery, hospitality or construction. "Without a doubt, it will be beneficial for the Spanish, Andalusian and Cádiz economy," she stated.
So if you submitted your application on time, now it's time to wait for the resolution. Stay alert for communications from the immigration office or your collaborating entity. And remember: this process was for people who were already working or had roots in Spain before November 1, 2021. You already know.
