This Thursday, December 18, at 10 a.m., online registration opens for the Alicante Royal Bags Camp. So if you want to go, get moving. The camp will be open until January 4, and it’s one of the most anticipated Christmas events in the city.
The Councilor for Festivals, Cristina Cutanda, has noted that this year the camp has incorporated accessibility measures. Pictograms, headphones for people with hearing difficulties, and other resources ensure that no one is left out. A step toward a more inclusive Christmas.
Whether you live in Alicante or are just passing through, booking a visit is very simple. Go to the city’s website, choose a date and time, and confirm. Just make sure you have your personal information handy. The camp is located in Plaza de Gabriel Miró. The official opening will be on Friday, December 26, with the Royal Postwomen in attendance: Luz Sigüenza, Elena Vidal, and Paloma Arroyo.
That same day, December 26, at 6:00 p.m., the Royal Messengers’ Parade kicks off from Plaza de España—near the Foguerer Monument—and ends at Fondo de la Rambla. Note that tickets for the Three Kings Parade on January 5 go on sale starting at 10:00 a.m. This year there are 1,700 extra seats thanks to the extended route, which now begins on Avenida de la Estación, next to the Provincial Palace. So there’s more room for everyone.
But that’s not the only event on the 26th. In the evening, at 7:30 p.m., there’s the San Silvestre Charity Run. Proceeds go to the Alicante-based team Xaloc Powerchair—motorized wheelchair soccer, featuring international players. More than 5,000 participants are expected, including both registered runners and walk-ins. Get moving.
