Use the app or the website, and if you find nothing, try calling the appointment hotline. However: do not trust those managers who promise you an appointment for money, they are usually scams.

The unions ask the Government to hire more staff and to set up an emergency channel. For now, the official recommendation is to plan ahead. So if you are processing your residency or a work permit, do not leave it until the last moment.
