Deadline to request an in-person regularization appointment has begun

This Monday, the application window opened for undocumented foreigners to submit their regularization applications in person. But be warned: it’s not automatic. You need to make an appointment at one of the locations designated by the government. And the deadline is approaching: you have until June 30.

Where can you go? Well, there are more than 370 post offices, more than 60 Social Security offices, and five immigration offices located in Madrid, Alicante, Valencia, Almería, and Murcia. Keep in mind, though, that each location has its own hours. At the post office, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. At the Social Security office, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. And at the immigration office, also from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. You’ve been warned.

If you’re wondering who is eligible for this process, there are two categories. First, those who applied for international protection in Spain before January 1, 2026. And second, those who are undocumented but arrived in the country before that same date. In both cases, the law allows you to apply for regularization within this period.

Before you go ahead and make an appointment, make sure you have two key documents: proof of registration and the vulnerability report. Without them, your application could be left hanging—so don’t take any chances. And remember: without a prior appointment, they won’t assist you, even if you arrive with all the required documentation. To schedule an appointment, you can do so by phone or online; the Ministry of Inclusion has detailed the steps on its website. Have your phone number, email address, and mailing address handy.

Science Minister Diana Morant has welcomed the launch of the process, and Government Spokesperson Elma Saiz has assured the public that everything is in place for it to work. That said, Correos admits they’ve had minor issues, but they promise that anyone with an appointment today will have their application submitted.
