On October 16, in the Puente de Vallecas district, the National Police arrested two people. The reason? They were hoarding appointments at the Immigration and Asylum Offices with a computer program. Then they sold them for 50 euros to immigrants who needed to regularize their situation.
The agents saw the suspects inside a car, handling several mobile phones at once. It turns out they made automated calls to the official appointment line — thus blocking all available slots —. Then they resold them and charged by bank transfer.
During the operation, the police seized four phones and an agenda with data from many foreigners. Specific details required by the Immigration Offices for procedures also appeared. According to the Police, this practice saturated a public service and made it difficult for other people to get an appointment legitimately.
The two detainees were brought before the court as alleged perpetrators of crimes of computer damage and fraud. And watch out, this is not an isolated case. The National Police has already arrested more than 120 people linked to groups dedicated to the resale of immigration appointments. The modus operandi is always the same: they hack the system, occupy all appointments and sell them on platforms like Milanuncios, Wallapop, Telegram or Facebook. Prices range between 40 and 170 euros, and sometimes even exceed 400.
So, if you need to process your documentation, be careful with these offers. Buying an appointment may seem like an easy way out, but it is illegal and also feeds a market that harms us all. Official appointments are free. If you have trouble getting one, there are legal alternatives, such as requesting an appointment in another province or going to an information office.
