Extraordinary regularization: half a million migrants can now request an appointment.

Nearly half a million people in Spain without papers — in Barcelona, at least 24,000 are mentioned — can apply for the extraordinary regularization launched by the Government. The deadline is limited, so you’d better get moving as soon as possible.

What do you need? First of all, get information through official channels. The Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration has all the information on its website. You also have guides in several languages: Catalan, Spanish, English, French, Arabic, Urdu and Chinese. But be warned: do not trust third parties who promise you quick procedures. In-person appointments are free and no one can charge you for booking them. Make that very clear.

Basic documentation

For the application you will need these three documents:

If you do not have registration (empadronamiento), in Barcelona you can go to the municipal support point — they will help you obtain it.

The certificate of vulnerability is key. If you are already being served by social services, you will receive an SMS or an email with a link to download it automatically. If you have not given them your contact information, you can request it in person at your social services center. If there are errors, call 900 922 357 to have them corrected.

If you have no relationship with social services, the Barcelona City Council has enabled Pavilion 2 of Fira de Barcelona (Avenida de Rius i Taulet, 10). They will assist you there Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., even if you are not registered in the city. You can also go to accredited collaborating entities for electronic foreigner registration.

The City Council is sending the padrón certificate by email or postal mail to 93,000 non-EU nationals who were registered as of December 31, 2025. In addition — and this matters to you — it organizes information sessions in several neighborhoods. If you want to attend, call 93 153 28 15 or request an appointment with SAIER. Get moving, because the deadline does not wait.
