Extraordinary regularization: ICAM warns, you need a lawyer

The extraordinary regularization for foreigners has just started. So the ICAM has launched a campaign so you don't risk it. It's called 'Immigration Law is Lawyering' and what it wants is for you to be clear that you need a specialized lawyer if you want everything to go well.

The campaign includes videos, infographics, and testimonials from lawyers who tell you how complicated this is. They want you to understand that it's not just paperwork —behind each file there are rights and personal situations—. The bar association insists: with a professional you have guarantees.

The process is regulated by Royal Decree 316/2026, with strict deadlines and specific requirements. It is designed for two groups. On the one hand, those who are already in Spain before January 1, 2026, and have been there for at least five consecutive months. In addition, you must have no criminal record. The residence you obtain will allow you to work anywhere in Spain and in any sector.

The ICAM has not stopped at the campaign. It has also set up information sessions for lawyers and has met with 40 consulates to coordinate the regularization. They offer free legal guidance. Their message is clear: solid legal assistance avoids errors and problems.

So if you are involved in this or are thinking of applying, seek an immigration lawyer. Don't trust inexperienced managers. The ICAM campaign reminds you: your case deserves a professional. And if you have difficulties with the appointment or the process, there are help channels.
