If you need an appointment at the SEPE, you know it's an odyssey. The offices are full, slots fly by, and if you don't get the timing right, you're left out. But there is a pattern: new slots are released every 15 minutes — exactly on the hour, quarter past, half past, and quarter to—. So says labor lawyer Miguel Benito Barrionuevo.
The trick is to get ahead. Two minutes before that slot arrives — for example, at 8:58, 9:13, 9:28 or 9:43 — you enter the SEPE appointment website. You fill in the requested data, but you do not press the continue button. You leave everything ready. Then, when the clock strikes the exact time, you proceed, enter your postal code and look for the first available appointment you see.
The system is a race against time. If you see a slot — even if it is in an office that is not the closest — do not hesitate. Select it immediately. While you hesitate, another user can steal your appointment. Demand is very high and a few seconds make the difference. After that, you just need to confirm the data and the reservation.
Didn't have any luck at 9:00? Don't give up. Try again at 9:15, 9:30 or 9:45. Every quarter hour new slots are released. Another tip: better not to get up too early. The system does not work early in the morning for this. The useful window starts at 8:00 in the morning. In fact, 8:00 is often a peak time — there is more availability and fewer people waiting.
This method is not foolproof, but it increases your chances. If you have been trying for days without success, try these time windows. Patience and speed are key. And remember: many procedures can also be done online, but if you need an in-person appointment, this trick can save you weeks of waiting. So now you know.
