If you’re waiting for a decision on residency or family reunification, this applies to you. The extra staff is great, but don’t expect everything to change overnight. The key is to have your paperwork in order, and if you see that the case is dragging on, seek professional help. In other words, take action.
Immigration insists they don’t want any more delays. But as long as the offices remain overwhelmed, appointments and decisions will continue to be a bottleneck. So be patient, but don’t get complacent. Ask questions, follow up, and if the wait seems excessive, file a complaint. Don’t let them take you for a ride.
