The legal profession denounces that the lack of an online appointment violates the right to asylum.

Getting an appointment at the Immigration Office has become an ordeal —and if you are seeking asylum, it is directly an insurmountable wall. The Spanish Bar Association has denounced it, and it does not mince words.

The General Council of the Spanish Bar Association states loud and clear: the telematic system is violating the right to asylum. And how? Well, because there are many people who cannot even get a prior appointment. Without an appointment, no application is valid. And if you do not formalize your application, international protection is nothing more than a dead letter.

It is not a minor problem: the law recognizes asylum as a fundamental right, but if the entry door —the cursed online appointment— is closed or collapsed, that right remains theoretical.
