Are you over 18 and want to get vaccinated against the flu in Madrid? Well, you can now do it without an appointment. The Isabel Zendal Hospital offers you the free vaccine Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
And it's no wonder: we are in the midst of an epidemic peak. The incidence of flu has gone from 42 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. More than 1.2 million Madrileños have been vaccinated since the campaign began on October 15.
This new point is intended for the following groups:
- Over 60 years old
- Healthcare and social-healthcare personnel
- Chronic patients
- Pregnant women
- Carers of vulnerable people
- Smokers
- Teachers of nurseries and early childhood education
Minors under 18, however, continue to be vaccinated at their health center with their pediatrician.
You don't need a prior appointment, nor is it necessary. You just have to go to the hospital with your health card. The vaccine is the best way to avoid worse problems. The authorities also recommend that you wear a mask if you have respiratory symptoms and that you wash your hands often. It doesn't hurt.
The Zendal joins more than 800 vaccination points in the region —health centers, hospitals, residences—. So if you want more details, take a look at the Community of Madrid portal.
