Over a month and a half without an appointment: the immigration drama in Palma.

Put yourself in Danelis's shoes. He has been trying for over a month and a half —yes, a month and a half— to get an appointment at the Foreigners' Office in Palma. And nothing. Every day he logs into the system and gets the same message: 'No appointments available.' He tried his luck in Menorca, no luck either. He even went to check in other provinces, like Asturias, but you know: if it's not where you live, things get complicated.

He has lived in Mallorca for 15 years, has long-term residence, and works in a clothing store. He needs to renew his NIE —if not, goodbye to his job. His documents expire on June 4, so time is running out.

He has considered paying 200 euros to a management agency to get a certificate, while he keeps trying the system on his own. And he is not the only case: a friend of his who works in the National Police confirms that, as of today, getting an appointment is impossible.

That's how things are: the appointment system at Foreigners' Office is collapsed. And the one who suffers the most is you, who needs to renew your permit or carry out an urgent procedure. Without an appointment, you are left in an administrative limbo that puts your legal and work situation at risk. So, if you are in the same boat, get moving.
