If you need to apply for or renew your passport in Santander, Colombia, it’s easy this month: you can do so without needing to make an appointment. The department’s Passport Office has extended in-person service throughout June—just as it did in May—so you don’t have to deal with the appointment system.
Where and when can you go?
The office is located in the El Cacique Shopping Center, basement, store 10, in Bucaramanga. They’re open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You just need to bring your original ID. If you’re an adult, bring your citizenship ID; for children, bring their birth certificate and ID card.
The passport costs 300,300 Colombian pesos. However, if you present your voter registration certificate, you’ll receive a 10% discount on the revolving fund and national stamp fees. That’s a good deal if you voted in the last election, isn’t it?
The Governor’s Office reminds you that this is a personal process and you don’t need any intermediaries. The deadline to complete the process and avoid missing the first payment has been extended to January 30 of the following year. So if you’ve already paid before, you have plenty of time—get moving, but don’t stress.
