No appointment needed: Saime renews ID cards in Venezuela

SAIME—the agency that manages identification and immigration in Venezuela—has announced that, starting July 2 and until further notice, you can renew your identity card without an appointment. This comes in the wake of the June 24 earthquakes, which forced the agency to inspect its offices.

If you’re Venezuelan and living in Spain, this might interest you: many procedures—such as applying for passports or notarized documents—require that your ID card be up to date. So this initiative allows you to go directly to the designated offices, without needing to register online or meet any additional requirements. When? Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. And no appointment needed, of course.

The operational offices are located throughout the country. For example:

SAIME recommends checking the complete list by state and choosing the office closest to your home.

This is a temporary measure: it will last until technical inspections are completed at the offices affected by the earthquakes. The agency will provide updates on new office openings and schedule changes. So if you have family members in Venezuela, let them know: they can renew their documents without an appointment, but only at the listed offices. Get moving.
