Palencia processed 1,500 immigration reports in just one year.

More than 1,500 police reports to regularize foreigners came out of the Palencia police station in the last year – as reported by the Immigration and Borders Unit. These are documents that the Police prepare and send to the Government Subdelegation to serve as a basis for residence applications and other requests. In other words, if you are processing something, this paper is essential.

These reports – including those for extraordinary requests – include the police assessment required by law. Without them, the process stops. So if you are waiting for a resolution, be clear that this step is key: the Police verify your situation before the administration decides. And be careful, without that report there is nothing to do.

In June, the Police carried out nine deportations. In all cases, the individuals had criminal or police records for offenses under the Penal Code. In other words, it was not for a minor offense. The deportations were based on judicial proceedings and final rulings. So you know: if you have something pending, better get up to date.

The Immigration Unit does not only produce reports. They also handle other matters: processing international protection requests, monitoring entry bans in Spain and the Schengen area, and investigating crimes such as human trafficking, labor or sexual exploitation, and document forgery to obtain residence permits irregularly. In short, they never stop.

In summary, the Police in Palencia combine paperwork management with the fight against irregular immigration. The figures speak of constant work: on one hand, facilitating the regularization of those who meet the requirements; on the other, acting against those who break the law. So now you know: if you comply, you have a free pass; if not, the problem is something else.
