Peruvians in Spain: Passport Applications Without an Appointment Starting June 1
Starting June 1, if you’re Peruvian and live in Spain, you can apply for your passport without an appointment. So forget about long waits and the struggle to get a slot in the consulate’s schedule. The measure—announced by Peruvian authorities—aims to streamline the process so you don’t waste time.
Before, renewing or getting a passport was a nightmare: weeks or months of waiting to get an appointment. But starting this month, you can go directly to the offices or do it online, without that previous step. Of course, if you’re in Spain, you’ll have to stop by the Peruvian consulate in your city. The new rule applies both in Peru and at the consulates, but it’s best to confirm it with yours just in case.
And what will you need? Well, a valid Peruvian ID card, your old passport if you’re renewing, and proof of payment of the fee. You pay the fee online and then show up at the office with everything. They’ll give you your passport in a few days. It’s that easy.
One thing to keep in mind: even though you don’t need an appointment, check the hours carefully. Some offices only accept walk-ins on specific days and times. Don’t just show up on a whim—you might end up making a wasted trip. It’s best to confirm beforehand.
If you’re planning to travel soon or need your passport to sort out paperwork in Spain, this is perfect for you. A Peruvian passport works for almost everywhere, but it doesn’t hurt to check the entry requirements for the country you’re visiting.
If you still have questions about how to do this from your province, check out the Immigration website or call the consulate. And if you run into any problems, you know what to do—ask for help.
