If you live in Castile and León and need a boost to pay the rent, this interests you: you can now request an appointment to submit your application at the Junta's offices. The 2025 aid is for those with limited income who want to rent a home. The deadline to submit the paperwork starts on December 1 and closes on January 30, 2026. So start getting used to the idea.
The Junta recommends doing it online, however, if you want to go in person you have to request an appointment. Especially in the provinces where it is most requested: Burgos, León, Salamanca and Valladolid. There the offices fill up in a jiffy, so don't leave it until the last minute. Get moving, because later there will be no room.
To request the appointment you have two ways: through the official portal 'citaprevia.somacyl.es' or by calling 983 450 544, from 8:30 to 13:30 Monday to Friday. The phone option is handy if you don't have internet at hand. So choose the one that suits you best.
Be careful, don't forget to check the requirements on the Junta's Housing website —'vivienda.jcyl.es'—. There you have the list of documents and how to submit the application online, which is the fastest and saves you queues. The aids were published in the Official Bulletin of Castile and León on October 21, 2025, in case you want the legal reference. You know, better safe than sorry.
If you are a foreigner and have doubts about your papers or your situation, it's best to consult beforehand with an immigrant support organization. The call does not look at nationality, but you have to meet the usual requirements: be of legal age and have limited income. If something seems fishy, ask. Don't risk it.
