The new Immigration Regulation —the famous RELOEX— has just turned one year old, and the numbers do not lie. Between May 2025 and April 2026, 1,482,054 files were resolved: 25% more than the previous year. So you see: seven out of ten are already processed under this rule.
If you are thinking of applying for residency or work, pay attention: the pace has accelerated. 1,642,209 applications were registered, 32% more than last year. Most are initial: temporary residence due to exceptional circumstances (398,293), temporary residence (334,055), and stay (169,949). So get moving, because there is activity.
Rooting has been the key. Since 2022, more than 750,000 authorizations of this type have been granted, and 241,000 people with rooting already contribute to Social Security —40% more than last year. Minister Elma Saiz made it clear: the regulation has allowed for extraordinary regularization.
Who benefits? 56% of resolved files are from Americans, 29% from Africans, 11% from Asians, and only 4% from Europeans. And in April, the record for foreign affiliates was broken: 3,248,247, 8.4% more than a year ago. That's right, these are official data.
