On Monday, April 20, the process begins: 373 Post Office branches across Spain will start receiving regularization applications for migrants in an irregular situation. But before going, you need an appointment. You can request it from Thursday, April 16, through the Ministry of Inclusion website or by calling 060.
The process is aimed at those who had been in Spain for at least five consecutive months before January 1, 2026. This is set out in Royal Decree 316/2026, which was approved on April 14. You have until June 30 to submit the application. So if you meet the requirements, get moving.
The authorized offices are in provincial capitals and municipalities with more than 50,000 inhabitants. Correos has chosen the locations together with the Ministry, according to the expected demand in each area. About a thousand employees have been trained to handle these procedures — and they can even act as the applicant's representative if necessary.
To request the appointment, use the Ministry's website or 060. There they also explain the documents you need and the specific requirements. However, on the day of the appointment, do not forget to bring all the documentation, because at Correos they only collect and deliver, they do not resolve doubts about the substance of the file. So go well prepared.
This assignment to Correos is part of the so-called Services of General Economic Interest (SGEI), which the company has taken on since the Postal Law was amended in July 2025. The idea: take advantage of its capillarity to bring the administration closer to people. The president of Correos, Pedro Saura, explains it: participation in the regularization "reaffirms the importance of the Correos network as an instrument of the State" for high social impact policies.
