The first day of the special regularization process was a busy one. Here’s the scoop: 13,500 online applications were submitted through the “Mercurio” platform, according to the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security, and Migration. In addition, 19,633 appointments were scheduled and accepted for in-person service, which begins on Monday, April 20.
Most applications were submitted using a digital certificate—either by the applicants themselves or by professionals such as lawyers, labor consultants, or administrative agents. Applications were also received from organizations and unions registered in the Registry of Collaborators (RECEX). The ministry has described the launch as “successful” and “smooth.”
If you need to schedule an appointment, you can do so using Cl@ve, by calling 060, or by filling out the form on the ministry’s website. With Cl@ve, you choose the office that best suits you. If you prefer to use the phone or the form, the system will assign you the nearest location based on your ZIP code. Appointments will be handled at more than 370 post offices, more than 60 Social Security offices, and five immigration offices—in Madrid, Alicante, Valencia, Almería, and Murcia.
Note: You will not be seen without an appointment. The ministry has set aside specific time slots for regularization so that these appointments do not overlap with other procedures. All the information, forms, and FAQs are available on the dedicated regularization portal on the ministry’s website. There you’ll find a simulator to check if you meet the requirements, the vulnerability certificate (not everyone needs it), and the list of RECEX entities.
If you need to make an appointment or submit an application, review the documents carefully before sending them. The system is always overwhelmed the first few days, but it seems to have held up. Keep an eye on the deadlines and don’t trust third parties who promise express processing: the entire procedure is free and must be done through official channels.
