Santander: appointment now for the vulnerability report

If you live in Santander and need the vulnerability report for regularization, get ready: now you have to request an appointment. The City Council has reinforced the Immigration and Social Cooperation Office (OICOS) and has set up a direct phone line: 942 20 31 73. So you know, call.

And what is that report for? Well, it is one of the documents required by Royal Decree 316/2026 for the regularization of migrants. However, not everyone needs it. When you go to the appointment, the municipal technicians will evaluate your case and tell you if you really need it. So don't get too confident.

If it turns out you do need it, they will give you the documentation to fill out and deliver the report on the spot — as long as you bring your identification, of course. So don't leave it until the end; better call and book your appointment as soon as possible. Get moving.

The Immigration and Social Services departments are working hand in hand on this. Mateo Echevarría, the head of Immigration, says that OICOS already has experience with complicated cases. In fact, these days the employees are receiving specific training. There is also coordination with other municipalities in Cantabria, and with Bilbao and Madrid, to exchange how they manage requests. The influx has been high, both in person and by phone. Zulema Gancedo, from Social Services, reminds that the central government should assume more responsibility. Full stop.
