The definitive approval of the Royal Decree has been carried out by the Executive of the Nation, which has been published in the Official State Gazette on April 15, 2026.
The deadline for submitting applications is set from April 16, 2026 to June 30, 2026.
The application can be submitted mainly by telematic means, through Mercurio Extranjería, within the page of the electronic headquarters of the public administrations.
The in-person option will be enabled, but with prior appointment, and will start from April 20.
Main requirements:
* Have evidence of having lived in Spain before January 1, 2026
* Justify an uninterrupted stay in Spain of at least 5 months
• Have no criminal record for serious crimes
* Meet any of the conditions (work, family ties or vulnerability situation)
According to estimated figures from the Government, more than 500 000 could benefit from this measure, one of the largest regularizations in recent decades.
