This Friday, the Madrid City Council is opening up online scheduling for in-person tax filing. Need help with your tax return? Well, pay attention, because you can request this service whether you’re a Spanish citizen or a foreigner with tax residency in the capital. So you know what to do—get moving.
Who can make an appointment?
Anyone who needs to file their income tax return and wants to do so in person with a city official. For immigrants, this is often crucial: you might have questions—did I work abroad? Do I have income from multiple countries?—and the city staff will guide you on how to fill out Form 100. Don’t worry, they’ll explain everything to you.
The process is simple: go to the City Hall website, search for 'cita previa renta' (income tax appointment), and choose a date and time. Just make sure not to miss the deadline; slots fill up in a flash. Have your NIE or DNI ready, along with your income and expense details, and if you have children or dependents, the documents proving it.
But be careful: don’t trust anyone who offers to get you an appointment for money. It’s free and can only be requested through official channels. No slots available? Wait a couple of hours and check again: slots always open up due to cancellations. So be patient.
Remember that the 2024 tax return is filed starting in April. With this in-person appointment, you’ll save yourself phone calls and waiting in line. So now you know—starting this Friday, you can book an appointment. Hurry, because slots are going fast.
