If you haven’t filed your 2025 income tax return yet, take note: starting this Friday, May 29, you can book an appointment to file it in person at a tax office. The deadline to book an appointment is June 29. In-person appointments will be available from June 1 through June 30. So hurry if you want to secure a spot.
- Go to the Tax Office website.
- Select 'appointment for in-person income tax filing'.
- Enter your information (NIE or DNI).
- Select the office, date, and time.
- You’ll receive a receipt and a confirmation email.
Typical hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., though some larger offices also open in the afternoon during tax season. So if you work in the morning, look for offices with afternoon hours. All set.
Don’t forget to bring everything: your original NIE, the tax information sent to you by the tax office, proof of income (pay stubs, rent receipts, whatever), and your bank details for payment or refund. If you’ve had income outside of Spain, bring those receipts too. Without those documents, they won’t process your tax return. So be careful.
Remember that the deadline is tight and appointments fill up fast. If there’s no opening at your preferred office, try others nearby. Don’t wait until the last day—you might end up without an appointment. Get moving.
