You can now request an in-person appointment for regularization in Asturias.

From Monday, April 20, you can now go to do the in-person procedures for the extraordinary regularization. In Asturias you have four enabled Post Office offices, the Immigration Office or the Social Security —but careful, always with an appointment.

In the Oviedo office, the 36 appointments of the first day were exhausted. But don't worry: there are still slots for the rest of the week. Those who have already gotten an appointment say the process is accessible. The big problem is getting that appointment. Many appreciate the help from individuals and from the administration itself.

At the central Post Office office they attended the twenty appointments on Monday —with delays, indeed: the interval between appointments was 20 minutes. The documents you need to bring are the census certificate and the vulnerability certificate. You have to request the latter at Social Services or at your town hall.

And here the differences between municipalities are obvious. In Avilés everything was fast: the City Council reinforced the five Social Services offices with more staff. In Oviedo, on the other hand, very long lines formed. The vulnerability certificate is being the number one headache.

You have until June 30 to submit your application. Once you deliver the file, the administration has three months to resolve it. If you have any doubts about the requirements or how to get an appointment, the best thing is to look for official information or go to a migrant association.
