You can now request an in-person appointment for the extraordinary regularization.

From this Monday, April 20, if you are thinking of taking advantage of the extraordinary regularization —the one approved by the Government— you can now request an in-person appointment. And not only at the Immigration Office, mind you: also at Post Offices and the Social Security. So, between one and the other, you have more than 370 Post Office branches, more than 60 Social Security offices and five Immigration offices —in Madrid, Alicante, Valencia, Almería and Murcia—. In Extremadura, specifically, the Social Security offices in Cáceres and Badajoz, and the Post Offices in those two capitals and in Mérida. So, you have plenty of places to go.

But watch out, without a prior appointment they won't serve you. So the first step is to request one. The Ministry has set up specific hours so you don't mix with regular procedures. At Social Security, from 4 pm to 7; at Post Office, from 8:30 to 17:30; and at Immigration, also from 4 to 7. All from Monday to Friday. Take note of the hours.

To request an appointment you have several options. The most direct: go to the Ministry's Regularization portal with your Cl@ve, and there you choose office, date and time. If you don't have Cl@ve —which is the most common— you can ask someone who does to manage it for you. Another option is a web form: there you don't choose office or date, they assign you the closest one based on your data. And if you prefer, you call 060 —in Spanish, from 09:30 to 14:00 and from 16:30 to 19:30—. However, subsequent communications will reach you through the same channel you used, so put your contact details correctly: phone, email and address, so you don't miss anything.

And who can regularize? Well, if you requested international protection in Spain before January 1, 2026, or if you arrived before that date and are in an irregular situation. The deadline to submit the application —whether online or in person— started on April 16 and ends on June 30. So get moving, don't let the bull catch you.
