You can now request regularization until June 2026.

The deadline to apply for extraordinary regularization started on April 16. You have until June 30, 2026 to submit the application. It is aimed at those who are in Spain without papers and want to obtain a residence and work permit. Official figures speak of about 500,000 people nationwide. In Barcelona alone, at least 24,000 could be eligible.

Barcelona City Council has strengthened immigration services and set up four support spaces. However: the central point to collect tickets is in Pavilion 2 of Fira de Barcelona, at Avenida Rius i Taulet, 10. There they will give you a ticket to then go to one of these centers:

The hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, non-stop.

To apply for regularization you will need to gather several documents. The most important is the vulnerability certificate, which is issued by social services. If they are already assisting you, you will receive an SMS or email with a link to download it. The system takes a few minutes to generate it. If you see errors in your data, call 900 922 357 or go to your social services center to correct them. If you do not have a phone or email, you can request the certificate in person with an appointment.

The basic documentation includes passport, proof of registration, and vulnerability certificate. You will also need an employment contract or a job offer. On the website of the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration you have the complete list and steps to follow. The City Council has published brochures in Catalan, Spanish, English, French, Arabic, Urdu, and Chinese.

If you live in Barcelona but are not registered, don't worry: starting next week you can prove your residence in another way. The City Council has already sent the registration certificate by email or postal mail to 93,000 non-EU citizens who were registered as of December 31, 2025. If you haven't received it, request it at your OAC.
