You Can Now Apply for Extraordinary Regularization: Deadlines and Steps

You can now apply for the extraordinary regularization program for migrants launched by the government. The application period runs from April 16 to June 30, 2026. It is estimated that some 500,000 undocumented people throughout Spain could be eligible—at least 24,000 in Barcelona alone.

The Barcelona City Council has set up a central information point in Pavilion 2 of Fira (Av. Rius i Taulet, 10). They are open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and no appointment is needed for general information. If you need help proving your residency or obtaining the vulnerability certificate, they will guide you there.

The basic documentation you’ll need includes: your passport, a criminal record check from your country of origin, proof of registration with the municipal census, and—with some exceptions—the vulnerability report. The latter is issued by social services. If you’re already receiving services from them, you’ll receive an SMS or email with a link to download it automatically. If not, you can schedule an in-person appointment at the center itself or at partner organizations.

Keep in mind, however, that in-person appointments are free—no one can charge you for one. If you notice any errors in your personal information, call 900 922 357 or visit your social services center to have them corrected.

For more information, visit the website of the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security, and Migration. There are also brochures available in several languages and informational sessions in neighborhoods throughout Barcelona. You can schedule an appointment by calling 93 153 28 15 or through SAIER. So now you know—take action if you’re interested.
