You no longer need an appointment for the Colombian passport: and if you voted, you save 10%.

Well then, from now on you can get your Colombian passport without having to make an appointment. This has been announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. And not only that: if you voted in the March 8 elections, you get a 10% discount on the issuance. You just have to present your electoral certificate when you do the procedure.

The ministry says it clearly: the entire process is personal. So no middlemen or intermediaries. Go yourself to the authorized offices and that's it. That way you avoid extra costs and possible fraud.

So if you are Colombian and voted, don't forget to bring the electoral certificate. The discount applies both at the central office and the northern one in Bogotá. The central office: Calle 12C No. 8–27. The northern one: Avenida 19 No. 98–03. The hours, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. — so move within that margin.

If you are Colombian and live in Spain, this news interests you — especially if you plan to travel or renew your passport. However, the procedure is done in Colombia, so it's advisable to have the procedure clear before going. You know: no appointment needed, but you have to respect the schedule and bring the right documentation.

The ministry insists that it is a personal procedure. If you have any doubts, take a look at their website with the service points. There you have all the details of schedules and locations in other cities.
