The subdelegate, Ángel Blanco, has stepped forward to deny rumors of delays. He says he spoke directly with the office manager and that operations are running smoothly. But the numbers speak for themselves: more than 1,900 regularization applications linked to people residing in the province. That said, not all of them were submitted at the Zamora office. They have also been submitted through the post office, Social Security, and online.

Here’s a key point to keep in mind: the applications are not processed in Zamora. The Immigration Processing Unit is located in Vigo. So if you’re waiting for a response, processing times are not dependent on the local staff. For this reason, the Subdelegation is asking for patience and notes that the Zamora office has added two new staff members to its team.

Blanco expressed his gratitude for the team’s work and praised the office manager, whom he describes as “a hard worker and highly qualified.” Even so, he acknowledges that the volume of applications has exceeded initial projections. Does that mean there’s chaos? Not in his view. “The office here runs very smoothly—and it’s not just me saying that. The numbers speak for themselves,” he states.
